Arctic Oil is a mild lemon-flavoured liquid that can be taken from a spoon or stirred into yoghurt, a smoothie or cold juice. That fits a breakfast routine and children who do not yet swallow capsules.
Both are Omegasense omega-3 in natural triglyceride form, providing EPA and DHA, from different marine sources. Gold uses anchovy oil and Arctic Oil uses wild Atlantic cod liver oil. Serving sizes and EPA and DHA amounts differ, as shown in the side-by-side table above.
Both products are made to avoid them. The oils are very fresh and protected from oxidation by nitrogen.
Although Omegasense Arctic Oil is made from cod liver oil, it contains no significant amount of vitamin A (retinol), the nutrient behind the pregnancy-related concerns with traditional cod liver oil supplements. However, if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding, or if you take medication or have a medical condition, please speak to your doctor, midwife or other healthcare professional before taking either product.
Gold uses premium anchovy oil from certified, sustainably managed fisheries. Both the oil and the capsule shell are fish-based, with no bovine or pork ingredients. Arctic Oil is made from wild Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) caught off the coast of Norway, with natural lemon flavour and mixed tocopherols as an antioxidant.
Arctic Oil: store at room temperature (15°C to 25°C), away from light and moisture. After opening, keep it in the refrigerator (4°C to 8°C) and use within 6 to 8 weeks. Omegasense Gold: follow the storage instructions on the pack. Keep both out of reach of children.
